A Place of Wonder
There are few places in the world as breathtaking, as timeless, and as full of life as Livingstone and the mighty Victoria Falls. It’s a place where the earth seems to speak — through the thunder of the water, the call of the fish eagle overhead, and the endless flow of the great Zambezi River.
This corner of Africa holds a special place in our hearts. Jenna’s family originally came from Bulawayo, just across the river in Zimbabwe, and spent many years surrounded by the beauty and wildness of this region. In many ways, it feels like bringing a piece of our family history into the celebration of our future.
Victoria Falls, known to the local people as Mosi-oa-Tunya — "The Smoke That Thunders" — is one of the great natural wonders of the world. When you stand at the edge and feel the mist rising, when you hear the deep roar echoing through the gorge, it stirs something ancient inside you. It’s a reminder of how small and how connected we are to the beauty of this world.
The Zambezi River, broad and calm above the Falls and wild and rushing below, gives life to everything around it. At sunrise and sunset, the river glows gold and pink, and the air fills with the sounds of birds, monkeys, and the occasional splash of a hippo. A simple boat ride along its waters feels like slipping into a dream.
The surrounding land is alive with wildlife — elephant herds grazing by the riverbanks, giraffes moving quietly through the trees, and dazzling flashes of kingfishers diving for their catch. It's a place where nature still moves at its own rhythm, where you can feel a deep and humbling sense of peace.
We chose this place to celebrate with you because it is not only beautiful — it is meaningful. It is raw, wild, and full of wonder. It’s a place that captures the spirit of adventure and the deep currents of family and history that mean so much to us.
